Environmental Health and Safety is in charge of the disposal of hazardous waste including chemical, biological, and radioactive waste for UT Austin.

Biological Waste Disposal

Request for Pickup

To request a biological waste pickup by EHS, complete the Disposal Request Form (PDF) and fax to 512-471-6918.

Chemical Waste Disposal

In accordance with the University's procedures for chemical waste disposal, EHS removes regulated or potentially regulated chemical waste from University facilities. The types of wastes collected include laboratory reagents, spent solvents, batteries, and used oil.

To request a chemical waste pick-up:

  1. Follow the procedures for chemical waste disposal.
  2. Download the Chemical Request for Disposal (PDF)
  3. Submit the completed form through either of the following methods:
    • Email us
    • Environmental Health and Safety
      Service Building, Room 202
      Campus Mail Code: C2600

Our objective is to pick up your waste within five working days of the receipt of a correctly completed Request for Disposal.
