Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is a campus department with a mission to protect students, faculty, staff and visitors, to promote healthy and safe operations on campus, and to ensure the protection of the environment. EHS works closely with campus colleges and departments to achieve our mission. Much of our focus is mandated from city, state and federal regulations that are designed to protect human health and the environment. By focusing our attention on regulatory compliance and the application of best practices we ensure a safe learning, working and visiting environment for everyone at the University of Texas at Austin.
Important: In the event of a fire, serious injury, or other life threatening situation, call 911.
Remember to have your name, number, location, and any other pertinent information available at the time of the call. It is important to inform EHS and the police if anyone has been injured or if there has been a personal exposure.
EHS assists in ensuring all employees, students, and visitors are safe when on UT Austin campus. EHS manages programs to safeguard people on campus from exposure to animals, mold, lead, asbestos, and other hazards that may be present. Live your best life!
