Recycling

Resource Recovery interns found on average 71% of waste from lab buildings NHB, CPE, PMA, BIO, and EER/ECJ was sent to the landfill trash in 2019. However, with proper sorting of waste and the introduction of building-scale composting, projected diversion rates show that these lab buildings can decrease the percentage of waste sent to the landfill trash to 38%!

Help us send less waste to the landfill trash not only by reducing your consumption and reusing items, but also properly sorting waste into the correct streams. Take a look at the Green Lab Recycling Guidelines for information on how to recycle lab-specific items and our Styrofoam, cold pack, plastic film, and alkaline battery recycling collections held once to twice a month.
